Cherry Almond Cake
8oz Margarine
8oz Caster Sugar
4 Large Eggs
11oz Plain Flour
1tsp Baking Powder
6oz Glace Cherries (washed, dried, and halved)
1oz Ground Almonds
1oz Flaked Almonds
10oz Sultana’s
2 or 3 drops of Almond Essence
Place all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and beat thoroughly until well mixed
Place in a lined 8”(20cm) cake tin and smooth the top
Bake in the oven for 2 1/2 hours @ 180°F
Leave in the tin for 15 minutes then turn out to cool completely
